Sunflowers With Purple is an example of a contemporary floral work which shows an almost impressionistic feel to the work.
You will notice that the impressionism is just hinted at by the visible brush strokes in the piece.
The work is beautifully balanced in color, and has a playful use of light on the piece, a hallmark of all brilliant still lifes.

Next up we have a portiere style of tapestry, Floral I.
This portiere shows a gorgeous composition of flowers in a fantasy like arrangement to provide the subject matter for a portiere tapestry:

A portiere style tapestry is one which is usually a long work with a relatively narrow width, used in the past to decorate castle walls, and to cover doorways.
Here in this interpretation, we see incredible use of color, and this color is brought to the viewer by way of flowers and foliage, which celebrates the beauty of nature.
The scene from which this work emerges from is the realm of the imagination.
As another example, here’s Generous Blooms, in classic master painters style, as a tapestry in a dining room.
Flowers in a floral tapestry adds a beauty that is unique.

This is why this work so satisfies the senses.
Again, the use of light and subdued use of color is brilliant in this work, and creates a most beautiful soft illumination on the scene.
Now, we have March Botanical tapestry, one of the set of 12 in the series called Twelve Months of Flowers.
The series was created by Robert Furber in 1730.
To this day, it is still one of the most iconic works in the studies of flowers.

Here in March Botanical tapestry, we see the blooms that appear in Spring.
Furber (1674-1756) was an English horticulturist and his works published in the 18th century is another example of the fact that botanists and other scientists of that era were artists at the same time.
Each month displays 30 flowers, all of which are labelled, as is the month of the year.
The style is that of a botanical study.
If you think of Da Vinci a few centuries before, who was perhaps the most famous of scientist-artists, this illustrates the balance of science and art in its communication to other scientists.

Here we see a work based on the original of artist Edourand Muller from the 19th century.
The scene is a flamboyant garden of flowers filling the central basket as well as the foreground terrace and balcony.
It is a wonderful celebration of the beauty of flowers in a natural setting.

What a beautiful work this is, the still life of fruits.
And in a style which is teasingly realistic, yet artistic in its execution.
Fruit is the cousin subject matter to flowers in still lifes.
This is why we have classified fruits with flowers into this category.
This work celebrates the simple country life style, symbolized by fruit, and in this case by a spice chest.
Here we have Theatrical Bouquet which is a French floral art inspired work of flowers in a countryside setting:

This work is reminiscent of the traditional French botanical study of flowers in a vase, in an idyllic background of a landscape, with a rich set of red curtains.
Here we have the classic color palette of reds, pinks and crimsons contrasting with golds, browns and greens.
Finally we have a more traditional or classic example of a floral and fruit still life.
Here we have Champagne and Fruit tapestry:

In this work, we see grapes and peaches, including the foliage of the grape vine in a tapestry which shows the beauty of nature in a still life.
Still lifes have been a subject for art for ages.
The reason is that fruits and flowers are the artistic rosebuds of the natural kingdom.
As such they provide much beauty to any setting.
