The Lady and the Unicorn tapestry is one of the most loved works of art in medieval history. Here we see the unicorn tapestry of A Mon Seul Desir, which means "love desires only beauty of soul" or "according to my desire alone". The lady is either removing or placing her necklace onto the chest held by her maidservant, in front of the royal pavilion. The mysterious unicorn as well as the lion watches the scene closely, amidst the mille fleur background of flowers, plants and forest animals of rabbits, rams, pheasants and dogs. The border is a beautiful classic gold acanthus leaf border which complements the work so well. This unicorn tapestry A Mon Seul Desir IV is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
