This Brussels Castle Italian tapestry shows a scene from the Maximilian hunting tapestries, a series of 12 tapestries designed for Archduke Maximilian. In this scene we have the Archduke on horseback and his court men accompanying him hunting in the woods of the Zonien forest with the village and castle in the background. The original work was designed by Pieter Coeke and Frans Borremans from Brussels and the original is now in the Louvre in Paris. The attention to detail and the filling of the piece with rich activity has created a most well loved work. This Brussels Castle tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rods and tassels, where pictured, are not included in the price.
