An English naturalist and ornithologist, or zoologist specializing in birds, Edwards (1694-1773) was born in Sussex travelled extensively throughout Europe in his early life, and gained a reputation for his drawings of animals and birds. He published "A Natural History Of Uncommon Birds" in 1743 of which he produced 4 volumes over the next few years, where he documented over 600 species of animals not previously described. Here we see a gorgeous array of birds perched on tree branches.
