Chapel of the Magi Florence tapestry is based on the work of Italian Renaissance painter, Benozzo Gozzoli. In this work we see the depiction of the Three Wise Men for the Medici family, the original fresco of which is found in the Magi Chapel of Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, Florence, completed between 1459-1461. The procession of the Magi in the nativity scene is on the Eastern wall of the chapel. In this piece we see the highly intricate artistry of Gozzoli, showing the medivalstyle of art in portrayal of people, their costume details, hordses, and a stylized landscape which is a flurry of activity and forms, including deer hunted by hounds, birds, rocks and hills, and cobbled stoned terrain. This ingenious depiction of the landscape and man's place in it, shows the distinct and unique style of medieval masters. Chapel of the Magi Florence tapestry is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod, where pictured, are sold separately.
