Designed in a traditional Oriental style that was extremely popular in Europe between the 17th and 19th centuries, “Cheval Drape” is filled with fantasy. A shepherd, horse and camel are pictured by a stream, which is overflowing with colorful fish. The trees are equally overflowing with fresh fruits. Birds float through the air and fish along the stream. Everything is brightly colored and fantastically detailed. The Oriental style was popularized when Jesuit missionaries returned from the Middle East with stunning works of art from the exotic lands beyond the horizon. These images were complemented with local flora and fauna that is reproduced with amazing accuracy. Today, these tapestries continue to be very popular with discerning collectors who appreciate them as works of rare art. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
