Christ

Christ has been depicted by many artists throughout history. But perhaps no depiction is more popular than the classic Greek Orthodox style, which is simple in form yet rich in texture and humanity. “Christ” is a celebration of this style, as well as its subject’s life. Here, Christ has a halo, but still carries the crown of thorns. The overtones are that he has risen from the dead, following his Crucifixion at the hands of the Romans. The colors are muted – warm browns and creams. It is bordered by a complementary frame in the same colors. Looking almost hand drawn, it has a wonderful primitive look to it, while capturing the savior in his glory and resurrection. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
