This piece shows a royal crest based on 18th century heraldry of Earl Temple. Here in "Crown and Crest", we see a coat of arms where the lion and horse feature in the symbolism, holding up the central shield where the royal crests of the Earl are seen. Architectural, bird and floral motifs are also seen to decorate the coat of arms. The words "Quam Dilecta" means "how lovely", and is placed as a motto on scroll motifs, next to the name of the Earl.
