This tapestry 'English Bouquet' is an extract of an 18th century tapestry woven in Soho. This floral work features acanthus leaves, tulips, poppies and roses. There are also acanthus motifs in the surrounding border. The bold orange and golden tones are balanced within the bouquet as well as the border, by grey and blue tones to anchor the piece. Floral tapestries are one of the most prolific and popular themes throughout the past few centuries and have been used by French, Italian, Dutch tapestry makers as their source of subject matter. In this case, this floral tapestry is of English origin and shows the elegance that flowers can bring to any piece of art. This tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
