Greek urn I

The art of Ancient Greece has had a tremendous influence on art, both past and present. This not only includes paintings and sculpture, but architecture as well. The Greeks were masters of their respective crafts and were often hired by wealthy patrons to create their amazing works of art. While many Greek artisans became well known, others simply melded into history, letting their works stand as a testament to their art. This Greek urn, also known as an amphora, is classically presented. The decorative elements grace the entire outside of the piece, beginning at the base and rising all the way up to the lid. These amphoras, whether decorative or plain, usually held wine or olive oil for homes and palaces alike. This tapestry is unlined and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
