The verdure was a French tradition from the 17h century, with tapestries showing gorgeous foliage and flowers in nature. Here in this piece, we see a 21st century version of the French verdure, in a handwoven tapestry "Deer At Wood's Edge". This landscape tapestry shows a beautifully rendered forest edge, close to the river, where we see a stag or deer. The curved leaves and foliage with flowers is rendered beautifully, as are the tree foliage, and the scene leads the eye beyond the flowing river, to a distant town wjer e building sits among a forest of trees. This hand-woven tapestry "Deer At Wood's Edge" comes unlined, and has a rod pocket for easy hanging.
