This large handwoven tapestry "Palisade" shows a gorgeous landscape scene of verdure. Based on the traditions of the Aubusson tapestry production houses in 18th century France, where masterful rendition of detail and beautiful designs are paramount, here we see a lush forest scene filled with lush foliage, flowers and trees. There is a tropical bird in this scene, as are columns to hint at a setting in which this landscape can be admired. The scene leads the eye also to the distance where a river, the source of which can also be seen, flows to the countryside beyond. The entire work is a marvelous and idyllic verdure which stimulates the senses and imagination. This beautiful hand-woven tapestry "Palisade" is unlined, and has a rod pocket for easy hanging.
