Jardin des Delices

Jardin des Delices, or Garden of Delights, was inspired by a panoramic work by famed painter Joseph Fuchs. Painted in 1861, the original was entitled Eden and later became a very popular wallpaper design in the 19th Century. Jardin des Delices is a lush, tropical rain forest that is awesome in its design, color and composition. The soaring mountains meet the horizon just beyond the bend in the river. Paintings like Jardin des Delices opened the door to the nouveau rich in the 19th Century to see imaginary, fantastic lands in the comfort of their own homes. You don’t have to be rich today to enjoy this same fanciful wonderland in your home. This tapestry is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging and display.
