La Chasse tapestry shows a glorious medieval scene of the hunt in the countryside. In the medieval period, the hunt with hounds and falcons was a past time of royalty. Here we see members of nobility hunting in the forest close to the castle, where their hounds are sniffing out prey, as a favorite pasttime. This work is beautiful in both its detail and color, as the forest foliage as well as the courtier's garments are rendered beautifully. There is visual interest throughout this piece and is a testament to the beauty of the composition, as the hunting scene is seen in the foreground, with other members of the group further away, and the scene infolding into the beautiful countryside and castle beyond. La Chasse tapestry is backed with lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
