This La Lecture – Picasso French tapestry is based on the work by Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, from 1932. Here we see Marie Therese Walter, Picasso's mistress, or one of his mistresses, asleep with a book resting on her lap. La Lecture refers to the phrase, the Reading. Picasso's experiments in the theme of Cubism was revolutionary and here we see the lady's features transformed into a geometric design almost to create a design where the human body is recognized though is unique in its approach. Her portrait has been described as playful, sensual and even erotic. This French La Lecture tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rods and tassels, where pictured, are not included in the price.
