The Le Tournai II - Vertical tapestry shows a detail from a work by Jean-Paul Laurens (1838- 1921). Laurens was a painter in the Academic style. Here we see the medieval scene portraying the jousting competitions or the Tournaments which were festivals in themselves. Here we see the audience watching the jousting, as some knights prepare for their round. Banners, flags and flowers decorate the scene. The color in this work is glorious and reflects the celebratory event that is portrayed. The Le Tournai II - Vertical tapestry is backed with lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
