This tapestry "Leopard" is based on the work of artist James Hautman. The leopard, one of the four large cats in the Felidae family, is a nocturnal creature that is athletic, agile and most beautiful. Here we see the realism and master artistry of Hautman who specialises in the evocative and stunningly beautiful rendition of animals from around the world. Here we see the leopard with his striking spotted featured and alert eyes in natural habitat of a grassy savannah. The use of light in the works of Hautman are superb and in this work, we see the play of light on the leopard himself as well as on the grasses beyond to create an impression that the level of light is low yet just enough to illuminate his subject beautifully. It is his thought to light and his ability to render it that makes his art exceptional. This wildlife tapestry "Leopard" is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
