The King's pipers and drummers are seen here in this tapestry, based on the work of Charles Le Brun (1619 - 1690). The work of Le Brun is famous in French history through the times of King Louis XIV when he became the first painter to the King. Here we see a man, woman, two children and their dog interacting with the musicians. The landscape is beautiful and idyllic with beautiful detail in the folaige of the trees and plants and the gorgeous countryside landscape and river behind them producing a luscious backdrop to this scene. This large tapestry "Les Sonneurs du Roi - Les Tambours" is backed with lining and a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
