This coat of arms tapestry "Napolean Dark Blue" shows the crest of Napolean with the famous eagle symbol. When Napolean became emperor in May 1804, he counselled with his Conseil d'Etat to produce a new royal crest for his new empire. His counsel came up with several ideas, of which some were chosen as symbols of his empire. The eagle has been a symbol of victory in battle an was chosen as the central creature. Bees, a symbol of immortality as well as the following of the hive as people to their emperor is in the royal mantle. On the left hand corner, the hand of justice can be seen, and the 5 sided chain of the Légion d'honneur is between the eagle emblem and the dual horns of plenty.
