Orchard apples

The Old Masters really had a command of their craft. The careful use of light was very important in their still life paintings. The light not only created mood, but added interest to the otherwise static subject matter. “Orchard apples” is a fine case in point. But it’s not the work of any of the Old Masters. It was instead painted by artist Elizabeth Brandon, who has carried on the fine painting traditions of the likes of Rubens. Trained by Rosino Florio, Brandon’s work reveals the natural beauty she finds in her still lifes and the poetic interpretation she brings to each setting. “Orchard apples” is a piece which shows her skillful use of light and color. This tapestry is lined at the back and comes with a tunnel for easy hanging and display.
