This tapestry "Oriental Koi Pond" is based on the work of Curt Walters, known as "one of the eight true masters". Best known for his extraordinary plein aire impressionistic works of the Grand Canyon, his other subjects of art are inspired by nature, and in this case koi fish. His works bring a modern tension to the technique of impressionism and in this oriental koi pond tapestry we see the beautiful rendition of water as seen by the ripples in the upper right corner caused by the fish and the reflections and subtle patterns seen in the water in the lower right corner. The petals of the water lilies look as if they are just raised along their edges on the pond surface, while the fish frolic under the sun in the koi pond. The treatment of color is masterful yet with a hint of impressionistic influence. Walters has an exceptional eye for color, form and texture and is considered one of the most talented artists of today's time. This tapestry is backed with a lining and has a rod pocket for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rods and tassels, where pictured, are not included in the price.
