Perroquets et Flamants Roses tapestry, or Parrots and Pink Flamingos, is based on the artwork and panoramic wallpaper of Julien Deltil from 1830. In this scene we see the lush tropical rainforest of Brazil with exotic birds, flora and fauna. The colorful parrots are on the branches in the foreground, and the indigo lake and forest beyond, complete with tall palms are hinted at. Tropical leaves and butterflies are seen in the foreground. It is a tropical dreamlike paradise. Tropical subject matter were a fascination of European artists of the time as explorers returned from travels with tales of their adventures and the strange sites they had seen. This Perroquets et Flamants Roses tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rods and tassels, where pictured, are not included in the price.
