Perspective

Based on an original painting by Isaac de Moucheron (1667-1744), this tapestry is caringly detailed. Moucheron was a noted Dutch architect and draftsman, as well as a painter. His travels to Italy in the latter part of the 17th century gave him his love of Renaissance Italy, which influenced his style and choice of subject matter for the rest of his life. “Perspective” shows this influence nicely, in the columns, urns, and other objects. His landscape show a high degree of detail, and one can readily see his expertise in drafting in the way the architectural elements are presented. The original of “Perspective” is on display in the British Museum. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
