In Segon Crest tapestry we see a decorated royal crest based on the originals by Segon created for Paolo Giovio of Como, Italy. Based on originals woven in Bruges, Flanders which now hangs in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, we see in this piece a central shield and glorious abundance of flowers and birds. This piece is highly decorated and celebrates the royal crest of Giovo , an Italian scientist and historian. The motto in this work translates to "Wisdom is subject to fate".
