Sous Les Tropiques tapestry shows a luscious exotic landscape in full bloom. Based on an original of the 19th century wallpaper panorama "Paysage Exotique" designed by Isotla Bella, Eugene Ehrmann (1804-1896), and to Georges Zipelius (1808-1890). Merchants and explorers from Europe discovered exotic and unique tropical plants and flora from the Orient and brought illustrations of these back to Europe were incorporated into this wallpaper design, which is the basis of this large landscape tapestry. The details and character of the palm leaves, the tropical flowers and an atmospheric midscape and background sets the scene of a misty and exotiv rainforest in all its abunadance of color. This marvel of a design is shown off here in this tapestry which shows the fascination with all things exotic in 19th century Europe. Sous Les Tropiques tapestry is backed with a lining and has a rod pocket for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
