The Accolade VI tapestry shows the knighting of a young man based on the art of Edmund Blair Leighton. Based on the 1901 painting by Edmund Blair Leighton (1853-1922), this piece shows the knighting ceremony where the lady places the sword on the young man's right shoulder. The royal court is watching the scene intently. As with the works of Leighton, the use of light and shade is beautiful, with the scene illuminated from above, as if from windows of the castle chamber itself. Accolade VI tapestry is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
