The Adoration of the Magi - no border

The Adoration of the Magi - no border
Designed by the legendary Morris and Co in 1887 for Exeter College in Oxford, “The Adoration of the Magi” shows the three wise men paying homage to the newborn Christ child in Bethlehem. It is based on an original watercolor that took its inspiration from the work of Edward Burne-Jones. Morris and Co’s John Henry Dearle and William Morris embellished the original significantly, adding the woods and surrounding foliage, which was a trademark of their work at the time. Morris and Co was well known for its decorative works and love of pre-Renaissance art. “The Adoration of the Magi” is a striking example of their artistry and skill in tapestry design. This tapestry is lined along the back and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
