The Harbour II tapestry shows a scene of Venice by Francesco Guardi from the mid 18th century. Guardi (1712-1793) was a painter in the Venetian school, and was born to a family of painters. Here in this grand panoramic scene we see the merchants of Venice on the harbor conducting their business, large ships and smaller ships on the sea, and other villagers on the water side. Elements of nature are seen as foliage and trees to decorate the scene as are the cloud formations. This Harbour II tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
