This tapestry shows the famous "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci from the Italian Renaissance. The original mural covers an entire wall of the dining room in Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milann, Italy. With Christ in the centre and his apostles by his sides, this is the last supper before his betrayal by one of his disciples. The scene is one of the most famous by da Vinci. The use of perspective to create an impression of an expanding room when you look at this piece is a feature of this work. In this piece, is the depiction of the reaction of each disciple as Christ announces his betrayal. There are references to the trinity in this piece such as the groups of three disciples, the three windows in the room and the pyramid like shape of Christ. This Renaissance tapestry is backed with a lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
