A member of the Felidae family, the tiger is one of the four big cats in the world. The Bengal is the most common, accounting for 80% of the entire population of tigers. This wonderful “Tiger” tapestry shows a strikingly regal Bengal tiger resting in the golden grasslands of the savannah. The detail is exquisite, right down to the unique marking on the forehead, which resembles a Chinese character for “king”. In Oriental cultures, the tiger is a symbol of strength, power and determination. The tiger’s rich striping is captured vividly in this finely woven tapestry.
