Tropical Greenery 
A richly colored verdure tapestry of a forest scene with tropical birds. This tapestry is based on the work of Jean-Bapiste Oudry, produced originally by the illustrious Manufactures Royales D'Aubusson, around 1770. The craftsmanship of this region of France in terms of tapestry production was remarkable and the many works that emerged from this production house was evidence of the hundreds of years of tradition, culminating in the factory being of Royal stature under Louis XIV. This tapestry shows richly colored flowers in the centre, contrasted by the brightly lit trees and landscape in the background. In the foreground, there are tropical birds among the foliage, trees and flowing river and streams in this fanciful scene that is a rich and elaborate example of a verdure tapestry. This landscape tapestry "Tropical Greenery" is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
