Van Gogh Portrait tapestry shows the self portrait of Van Gogh, based on the original created in Autumn 1887. Van Gogh in fact created many portraits of himself from 1886 to 1889 when he was in Paris, Arles and Saint Remy. This particular one was created while he was in Paris and shows his ingenious craft with his unique post impressionistic style. The work now hangs in the National Museum in Amsterdam. You can see his unique use of lines to create color, light, shade and this work has all the unique hallmarks of a van Gogh.
