Vedure with reindeer

Remember the highly popular “Where’s Waldo?” where you had to find Waldo hidden in the picture? Well, it could have been inspired by the lovely verdures that were so popular between the 16th and 17th centuries. The amazingly intricate verdures were an ode to flora and fauna. The heavy foliage is characteristic of all verdures, a celebration of botany, which was just becoming an emerging science at the time. Artists were quick to pick up on this love of foliage, creating remarkable works filled with bushes and trees.
