Vendanges VIII - La Recolte Des Raisins French tapestry is based on a famous original tapestry from the 15th century showing the harvest of grapes and wine making. Vendanges or the harvest is a prominent theme in medieval tapestry wall hangings and celebrates and shows off the fashion of the times as well as the techniques of wine making developed in the Middle Ages in Europe. This work is beautiful and shows the villagers gathering grapes and pressing them with their feet to produce wine in barrels. The flowers of the forest is used as a stylised backdrop to the scene. This La Recolte Des Raisins tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rods and tassels, where pictured, are not included in the price.
