This beautiful landscape tapestry 'Verdure Rotonde & Village' is taken from the larger panoramic 'Oudenaarde Verdure' landscape tapestry. These tapstries are based on the original tapestries produced by the famous tapestry weavers of the Oudenaarde region in Belgium around 1916. These verdures were created under the protection of James I and were inspired by their location in the Morlake region. Here we see the beautiful details in the trees and forest foliage as well as the elements of the garden pagoda, river streams and village that are presented in a cohesive yet atmospheric color palette. It is because the color palette is carefuly chosen to create the effect of stirring the imagination and drawing the eye in by enhancing these subtle changes in shades. The world of the verdure and the morning light that the scene is set in, creates subtleties in the shading and detail that is a trademark of these extraordinary and beautiful works. This tapestry 'Verdure Rotonde & Village' is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
