This Bayeux Edward tapestry shows the scene from the Norman conquest of England. When King Edward, the last Anglo Saxon king f England, died in 1066, there was no clear heir to the throne of England. He was succeeded by Harold Godwinson, who was succeeded by William the Conqueror in the Battle of Hastings in the same year. Here we see nobility leaving the castle grounds on horseback. This Bayeux Edward tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
