This tapestry ‘Birds Face to Face’ is inspired from William Morris’s work Strawberry Thief where we see thrushes stealing fruit from his summer garden. We see in this work, the favorite elements of Morris, the symmetrical designs of birds and flowers. The spotty breasted thrushes are seen here about ot nibble on berries and flowers. The multiple shades of reds and pink reds reflects the strawberries in the garden, as well as the variety of flowers seen in this scene. These reds contrast with the greens and blues of the garden foliage. This is a veritable celebration of spring and summer in the country garden. This tapestry ‘Birds Face to Face’ is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
