Bouquet de Armide

Bouquet de Armide tapestry shows a work from a 19th century wallpaper from around 1855. The Louis XVI style was prominent at this time, and wallpapers were inspired by nature and gardens. These panoramic views give the viewer the impression that they are looking out onto a garden beyond their balcony, and gives the impression of space. Here we see a rich arrangement of red, yellow and white flowers in an urn. The entire balcony is also decorated with a rich plumage of flowers and greenery, to frame the gardens beyond. This Bouquet de Armide tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
