From the work of J.B. Oudry (1686-1755) we see the 18th century painter’s masterful work depicting the four seasons. In this extraordinary large tapestry, we see spring summer on the left and winter autumn on the right, which are also available as separate tapestries “Spring Harvest” and “Autumn Harvest”. The flurry of activity in this tapestry is remarkable and shows the detailed foliage and flowers of the forest among the creatures including deer, dogs, sheep, geese and peacocks. The use of color and composition is a true delight and is an indication of the mastery that Oudry had for natural subjects, in this case inspired by the four seasons. There is a bridge and manor on the right and a windmill and farm house on the left. This extra large landscape tapestry “Four Seasons” is backed with lining and a tunnel for easy hanging.
