This remarkable and famous tapestry was originally woven in Flanders in the late 15th century. This tapestry now hangs in the Cluny museum in Paris. The scene we see is the creation of wine from grapes with the wine press which represented a joyful process of the villagers. We see the various roles including the harvesters, crushers, collectors and even their donkey. We see two nobles coming to observe the process dressed in their attire. The mille fleur or thousand flower background is seen, typical of the style fo 15-17th century tapestries in France and Europe. This medieval tapestry “Grapes Harvest” is backed with lining and a tunnel for easy hanging.
