Hollyhock Hummer

Hollyhock Hummer tapestry shows a hummer beside pink hollyhocks in full bloom. Based on the work by Cathering McClung, this tapestry shows her love of nature and her use of light to create a lovely backdrop to the scene in focus at the front. The hollyhocks are huge and the red and yellow hummer is about to choose a bloom, whereas the other light green hummer is already feeding on one. The interplay of color from the deeper greens to the light greens as well as the pink and white in the flowers and leaves is something that McClung is able to do with her subjects to bring them to life in a beautiful light.
