La Cour is a detail from the tapestry "A la Cour du Roy" and shows the call of the king. Based on the original "Une Descente de Tournoi a la Fin du XV Siecle" by Jean-Paul Laurens, this tapestry shows the nobility preparing their knights for the jousting tournament. The original tapestry, created at the Royal Manufacture of Gobelins from 1895 to 1899 now adorns the guards room decoration the Public Records Office. The king can be seen sitting by his family and court ready for the spectacle, and the knights and their ladies are preparing their helmets and horses for their turn at the tournament. This is a rich and detailed medieval tapestry which shows the tournament and its festivities in medieval times. This tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for ease of hanging.
