La Floret de Marly tapestry shows a verdure forest scene, a detail from the Forest of Clairmarais tapestry. In this gorgeous tapestry we see a detail from the larger work depicting the forests around Paris which were used by the royalty of France in the 17th and 18th centuries including the forests fo Clairmarais and de Marly, for the past time or sport of hunting by the kings and his royal court. Here we see the typical verduree style where the leaves and foliage features are accentuated and stylised to portray its variegated colors beautifully. These colors include the various shades of greens, golds and darker yellows. There is a flowing river which connects the foreground right to the distant mountains where the spring water originates from. La Floret de Marly tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging.
