This verdure tapestry is inspired from a tapestry which is exhibited at the Chevreuse Castle in France. The original was created by the famed Aubusson tapestry workshops in 18th century France. This scene features colorful foliage and flowers, among a river scene of birds and the manor in the background. As true with all the typical verdures of this time, nature takes priority and the bounty of nature is dominant while man made elements of village life blends in with the surroundings. Verdures were used to bring the glowing beauty of nature to the indoors, and to bring brightness and cheerful colors to enliven, and this tapestry does with with its cheerful use of color. This tapestry is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
