This Marina tapestry shows the work of Francesco Guardi, Venetian painter (1712-1793). The portside scene shows merchants on the harbour, with ships on the sea with villagers surrounding to show the life and times of Venice in the 18th century. The delicately rendered water is beautiful against the rays of light streaming through the clouds. A nature inspired border completes the work. This Marina tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
