Based on a work by artist Blacuso, this world map tapestry shows the old view of the world as it was thought to be. These old world maps were drawn, according to the cartographers knowledge of measurements made by sailing ships and the geometry of a round world to create a map to represent a curved world the best they can. In fact, the inscription "Nova totius terrarum sive novi orbis tabula" means "A new map of all of the lands, or a new map of the world". As with most world maps of the 17th and 18th century, the map itself is surrounded by icons of kings, king's men, and even mythological stories from the past which captured their imagination used as decoration to make the map a true work of art in itself to be proudly displayed and admired, such as in this tapestry "Nova Terarum Orbis". This tapestry is unlined and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
