Primavera (Allegory of Spring) I - Botticelli wall tapestry is based on the tempera panel painting by Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli from 1482. Here we see, from the allegory of Spring, Primavera, the personification of Spring in the center, with cupid above and ladies with male mythological characters. It is said to be one of the most controversial paintings in the world. This piece shows in the center Venus, to her right is Flora, the goddess of Spring surrounded by flowers, Chlorys the nymph of Spring and Zephys the male bringer of spring breezes to the right of her, the Three Graces to the left, the goddesses of charm and beauty, and Mercury is seen to the very right picking fruit.
