The Just Judges – van Eyck tapestry shows the left panel of Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, painted by Jan and Hubert van Eyck from 1432. As a part of the Ghent Altarpiece, an epic piece of art in 12 panels, we see various scenes of Christ’s adoration and biblical scenes including Adam and Eve. The original is housed in Saint Bavo Cathedral in Ghent, Belgium. This panel of the Righteous Judges it is presumed that it is a painting of Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy and possibly the artists themselves Jan and Hubert. A border completes the work. This is an example of the beauty of late medieval art bordering on the style of the Renaissance. This Just Judges tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging.
