Tournee Du Chat Noir cushion cover shows the work of Steinlen. The delightful black cat is seen here in this classic poster style work of Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen. It refers to the Black Cat cabaret of Rodolphe Salis which opened in 1881 in Boulevard Rochechouart and was a place loved by Picasso. Also known as Cabaret Artisique, this was a chic place where entertainment and shows featured. The poster was created for an upcoming tour of the show. Steinlen (1859-1923) was born in Switzerland and was a painter and printmaker in French Art Nouveau style, who featured cats in many of his art works. Tournee Du Chat Noir cushion cover is backed with a lining and has a zipper. Note: infill not included.
