The Hunt of the Unicorn is a series of 7 tapestries depicting the hunt, the death and the resurrection of the mysterious unicorn. Based on the originals from 1495-1505, it is thought that they were originally created for Anne of Brittany, and created in Southern Netherlands. Here in this cushion cover, we see a detail from the section also known as the Unicorn at Bay, as the unicorn approaches the stream of water flowing from the village fountain as hunters gather.
